And, this is how you use it on your baby :
Well, the reason why I made this little bag filled with rice is because Ivan's not sleeping on his tummy. And, old people says that by placing something slightly weighted on his chest will somehow calm him down. That's why some infants would feel comforted and probably safer by sleeping on their tummies. However, I'm not too smart with that sleeping position. Will need to be alittle bit more careful that they don't sleep face down. There's a risk of Sudden Infant Death syndrome (SID). Read about it here.
Back to the rice bag that I made. Got the cloth from Jef's old bedsheet and bought the little heart in the center. Isn't that nifty? Ivan was using it till he's about 3 months old. He was comforted and felt safe with this bag filled with rice, made with love. *grin*. Anyway, I need to discard this already as the rice inside turned powdery after almost 2 years. So, Ivan, if you are reading this blog next time, please know that I made this for you ... with love. :)
During confinement, I was alittle bit bored and made this pillow case for him.
Ha ! Cloth from my old T-Shirt. And the little pillow is souvenir from Mead Johnson. I like this pillow alot but he doesn't think so. It's probably too small for him now. This is where I had stuffed the pendant of Virgin Mary inside, to protect him. :) Funny things mothers do ..
Ivan has 2 favourite bolsters or his bantal busuk (smelling but comforting pillows). He drags it everywhere he goes and hugs them to sleep. I shall take picture of his bantal busuk when he's not hugging it. And, the bantals are already in bad shapes, about to tear from side to side.
I used to have one bantal busuk when I was young. It was with me since young till I was in college. My mom threw it away as it's too contaminated and smelly; without seeking my permission. I'm kinda missing it right now. I wished my mom had blogged about my bantal busuk. Be thankful Vernie !!
