'Dry' Achievement

This is my table calendar in office. The red circles indicate the days when my sweetie son wets the bed and the green ticks are when the bed stays dry. Not so bad for the month of April huh?

BabyCenter recommended that I mark-the-calendar with success and unsuccessful days. At a glance, I would be able to tell the success rates vs unsuccessful attempts. They also mentioned that as staying dry is an ability and therefore, different child picks it up at different time. Usually as they grow older, the chances of wetting bed is lower. It was also mentioned the possibilities of children wetting the bed. It could be a stressful period or the child could be having Urinary Tract Infection (UTI). The most important message in the article was "Don't pressure your child into diaper-free at night without wetting the bed. Never scold them".

We used to lecture Ivan alot whenever he wets the bed and I threatened him with this once, "You know what? When you wet yourself, I will not change you. Just let you stay wet. Then probably you will catch cold .. "

So, there was once when he wet himself and I was sound asleep. He dared not wake me up and he was just holding on to my arm, staring at me with sad, pitiful eyes. By the time I realised what happened, Jef has already changed him and put him unto his bed. He was as quiet as a guilty rat. OOoooooohhhhhhh ... I felt so bad ! I hugged him and tell him that it's fine, it's ok and I'm not mad at him. But he remained in his dungeon of guilt. :(

But well, that was before. Looking at the calendar now, I am satisfied with his 'achievement' so far. You are doing well, baby ! Keep it up ... :)
