Funny Moments

These are some of the incidents that took place recently that I must blog about.

1. We are bad influences to Ivan.

Jef and I were watching the Cantonese Movie on Astro when one of the quite pretty actress kisses a not-so-desirable guy. Uughhh .. what a scene and almost at the same time both of us, with our disgusted looks said 'yuuuccckkkss'! Just then, Ivan expresses his disgust too by repeating after our yuckkss.

So, when his hands are dirty, he will cringe his face and yuckkss ! This is how an automysophobia (Fear of being dirty) personality started. But, it's funny to hear him yucking away, really.

2. Shame on you

Sitting on the floor with my legs folded up, I bend over to the front. This is my normal position when watching tv at home. Ivan lifted my shirt up at the back and hugged me from the back. *I feel so loved !* After hugging for a while, I felt someone looking at me. It was him, peeking at me from my back with a grin. Using both of his index fingers, he brushed it up-and-down on his cheeks. It's a common shame-on-you gesture kids always do. Geee ... who taught him that?

3. Stickers !

I brought back a Happy Meal from McDonald's today that comes with 2 Surf's Up toys. (yeah, it was 2 instead of 1. I guess, the waiter must have enjoyed Maroon 5's Makes Me Wonder I played in the car while waiting for my take-away at the drive-thru). Anyway, that's not relevant to what I want to say here.

The toy includes some stickers and Ivan used it all to stick it on the staircase handle and ... my sleeve. He enjoyed himself so much, so I just let him be. When he's done, this is how his master piece looks like :

He gave a whole new look to my plain dull long sleeve white shirt. Don't you think so too?

4. Ivan misses Daddy

Jef was away from home for a week to his mistress' place (ha ha). Ivan misses daddy so much ! On the first night alone with Ivan, I had left the bathroom light on and door open slightly so that it won't be so dark in the room. Our bathroom is connected to the walk-in wardrobe and the center portion of the wardrobe's sliding doors is made of see-through glasses. So, Ivan could see that the bathroom light is on.

He sat on his bed for a long while. When I called him to lie down on his pillow, he pointed to the door. Obviously, he was waiting for daddy to come out from the toilet. eerr ... I told him daddy's not at home and to proof me wrong, he ran to the bathroom and realised that I wasn't lying.

Poor boy came out with a sad look. When daddy called on the phone, he cried alittle listening to his voice.

Minutes later, I distracted him with something else. (I can't recall what was it) And hey-presto ! Ha ha ... he's smiling again. :) Lesson learned here, children are easily distracted. Once out of sight, out of mind !

5. Hug please

If you have watched any Barney's series before, you would have heard of the I Love You ending song.

Whenever Ivan hears this song, he will hug me tight with his head on my shoulder. aaahh ..

These are some of the many funny moments with Ivan that I would love to reminisce when I'm old and grey. Knowing that I have short term memory like Dory, blogging it down could probably helps.

Reality bit. I could use this piece of memory to recall the good times when Ivan breaks my heart in future. Well, afterall, breaking your parents' heart is part of growing up. There will be time when he shouts back at me for ironing his underwear (kidding !) or when I read through his chat logs (nah .. I won't do that) or when I showed his girlfriend his baby nude pictures (I'm such a mean mom) .. haha ...
