Today, we decided to get some new clothes for Ivan. And, as he's still in his growing up and fast stage, we normally get his clothings from Reject Shop. Yah ... call me mean, call me bad. But, hey, I don't buy my own clothes from DKNY or Chanel ok? Anyway, that's not relevant to what I want to say here.
We arrived in One Utama and after parking the car, we happily walked into the mall. Jef was pushing Ivan in the stroller and he got onto the escalator first. I gave way to a couple to go first and I came after them. So, incase you didn't get the picture, this couple was inbetween Jef and I. The girl's dressing caught my attention. She has two really huge orchids on her hair clip and she was dressed from head to toe like a hawaiian chic. Anyway, this is still not relevant.
The hawaiian girl suddenly scolded something to her partner. Her partner then replied something. Then, quiet moment of 2 secs. Then, the guy said, "I'm tired of you bitch !". Whoaa .... man, if anyone uses that B word with me, I guess I would have kicked the person in the crotch area, pushed the person into the drain and then pour a pail of shit loads onto him or her. And, what happened next shocked me and also other watchers.
Hawaiian girl slapped him on his face
[Paused]
Hawaiian girl snatched his glasses and threw it on the floor.
He hits her on the shoulders and he slapped her on her face, hard. The smack was so loud and clear and it stayed onto my mind till now. I was brought up in a society that taught me no matter what a girl did, no matter how bad the damage was, Man shouldn't hit a Woman ! She may have killed his dog, poisoned his pet parrot and scratched his car but, he could have divorced her or break up with her or lodge a police report. But, no, he slapped her. And because of that slap, I, together with the rest of the 'audiences' agree in a strong united voice that He's the Pig.
So, after the slap, they were hitting each other, everywhere. Then, they continued screaming at each other and then later on, the guy dragged the unwilling woman to take the opposite escalator, to leave I'd reckon. It was an ugly sight. She was screaming and he was yelling 'Come with me !'. This caught the security guard's attention and then, I moved to a 'safer' place with my family.
The scene truly disturbed me. I have seen numerous shows with man hitting a woman but hey, those were staged. Those are just in movies. And, I never expect to see a man slapping a woman hard on the face, and to make it worse, in public. It kinda spoilt our shopping mood. But, luckily we still managed to buy clothes for Ivan and Andrew* as well.
*Andrew is my nephew of 11 years old.
