I'd been neglecting my blog recently. I wasn't lazy, it was not because I was tired or neither was it due to my lagging Internet connections. Truth is, I was afraid (note that past tense is used here, hence, I'm not afraid anymore).
For the past few days, Ivan has been acting strangely. He refused to sleep with us in our bedroom upstairs. Whenever it is sleeping time, he will kick a big fuss and bawl like crazy. Most of the times, we will let him stay downstairs for alittle longer and until he's really tired, he will follow us upstairs. When upstairs, he tend to be deep in thought. He stares at a spot blankly. And his reaction terrifies me.
We bought Ivan a easy writer toy, the one that allows you to write using a special pen and clears off by pushing a little knob to the left or right. Jef was playing with Ivan, drawing some pictures for Ivan and he drew a potrait of a girl with long hair and .... Ivan made a gesture to show that he's afraid. (he hits his chest repetitively). Also, lately he has been making 'ggrrrrmmm' noise. Probably imitating a tiger's roar or shark's growl he saw on tv? Anyway, he really terrifies me. And, back to why I was afraid and was not blogging ... I slept early. I slept same time with Ivan and Jef. That's why .....
Anyway, I shared my encounters with some friends and forums. And their advices really made me raised my eyebrows. Check this out :
1. Go get a talisman from the temple. As long as it can solve problem, I don't really care what's the remedy (this came from a non-buddhism friend)
2. Place a KuanYin or Bible with you in the bedroom
3. Bath your baby with 7 different types of flowers. It helps to chase away evil spirits
4. Don't bring your baby out after 7pm. That's when evil spirits comes out
I get more but I can't really remember all. The context is similar. Get help from God to shun off evil spirits. Well, I do pray for Ivan and made him a little pillow with Virgin Mary's locket stuffed inside.
Not that I don't want to believe them but, I was expecting something like 'Haiyah, Ivan's hungry !' or 'Have you checked with the doctor?' or 'Perhaps you should take his temperature'. Somehow, I try not to be superstitious. I will try to put on a brave front for Ivan. Will tell him not to be afraid cos' mummy's here. And, when I'm scared, I will simply rely on Jef for him to tell me not to be afraid. *sweet huh?*
