Teacher Mummy !

When we decided to send Ivan to pre-school last year, we only wanted Ivan to have a good time playing with friends and such. I had to admit that it's really nice and exciting to know that he gets to learn other things as well. He was taught A,B,C , counting, animals, senses and etc.

Well, of course there was play time too. Such a relaxing year in Montessori. Comes this year, he learns more than just socializing, making use of your sensors, etc. He can write, read and count in English, Bahasa and Mandarin ... and there's exam. Gee .. I'm so surprised.

So, I am required by the teachers to do revision with my 4 years old. Poor little boy .. poor mummy. I'm so stress. I need to find fun alternatives to make learning easier so that he can absorb and understand better. Here comes Teacher Mummy !

Since last Monday, we have been reading and doing exercises prepared by this amateur, untrained and unlicensed self-volunteered teacher. It wasn't fun at first trying to teach him phonics and finding out what's the first letter of things. But now, after a week, I must say it's pretty enjoyable for both Ivan and I. Perhaps, I have came to realise that hey .. passing the exam is no longer that important anymore. What the heck ... He's just 4 ! Revision is now done for an hour a day and tops with hours of games. Life shouldn't be that complicated and stressful for Ivan. Why? Because I say so.

On a separate note, when I got back from work yesterday, Ivan said this to me while holding my hand. "Mummy, Happy Mother's Day". Me so touched.
