Jef and Ivan was having their KFC for dinner just now when suddenly ppoooooffff ! The lights went out. We were in the dark.
We struggled to look for the tealight candles and also the candle stands. While Jef went to check out the main switch, Ivan and I was lighting up the candles. We were so unprepared for moments like this ! We don't have any torch lights and the tealight candles can barely last for a couple of hours (though we have lots of it but it's a hassle to keep on changing the candles).
I dread moments like this. I dread it when there's unplanned disruptions of utilities. I was grumbling silently in my heart and just then I realised how much the bubbly little fella next to me is enjoying all of this commotion. He was singing birthday song beside me. What a song. The song that lights up millions of candles in me. The song that reminds me to enjoy the moment and not let it go to waste. So, we lit up candles and left it around in the kitchen, dining and living hall.
After his dinner, we went out to the living hall to wait for the wireman to come and rescue us. While sitting down on the sofa, Ivan's imagination grew wild as he saw our shadow dancing around. His little excitement starts waning off and he was hugging on to daddy tightly. Sensing his fear, daddy distracted him with little play. He made Ivan lie down on the floor with him and guess what he's doing with his hands. He did shapes, numbers and some alphabets for Ivan to guess.
The wireman came and restored services at 2300 hrs plus. Hmm ... what a night. Just thought I should blog it down for Ivan's read in future. :)
